BimmerFix® | Permanent BMW N62 & N73 Coolant Pipe Weep Hole Repair
Stop the Dreaded BMW “Weep Hole” Coolant Leak
Save $5,000+ in labor costs with the original, patented BimmerFix® Stent System. No engine removal or intake manifold teardown required.
The $5,000 Problem
BMW N62 V8 and N73 V12 engines feature a central coolant transfer pipe. Over time, the front seal fails, causing antifreeze to leak through a “weep hole” in the timing chain cover. Traditional repairs require **removing the entire engine** or cutting the pipe costing you thousands in specialized labor.
The Symptoms: Low coolant warnings, sweet smells from the engine bay, and puddles of blue or green fluid under the front of your car.
- The Leak Path: When this seal shrinks or fails, coolant escapes into the timing cover and then drips out of a small 5mm weep hole located behind and slightly to the left of the water pump.
- The Traditional Fix: Replacing the entire pipe usually requires removing the timing chain cover and cylinder heads, a labor-intensive job that can cost between $7,000 and $10,000.
- BimmerFix Stent System: A high strength aluminum sleeve is inserted through the front of the timing cover (after removing only the water pump). It creates a new metal liner that bonds to the pipe, permanently bypassing the failed rubber seal.
- Collapsible Pipe: An aftermarket two piece pipe that requires removing the intake manifold and “valley pan.” The original one piece pipe is cut out, and the collapsible version is expanded into place using new O rings.
- OEM Factory Pipe: This is a solid, one-piece pipe. Installing a new one according to factory specs requires a complete front engine teardown.
- Valley Pan Gasket: Located directly above the transfer pipe; it can also leak and pool coolant in the engine valley.
- Secondary Air Pipes: These often need to be removed or replaced during a full valley teardown as they can become brittle.
- Water Pump: Since it must be removed to access the pipe for most repairs, it is a recommended “while you’re in there” replacement.
The BimmerFix® Solution
Patented Design
Our high strength aluminum alloy stent creates a permanent metal liner inside the failed seal area. Protected by US Patents 11,112,051 and 10,240,513.
No Engine Removal
The entire installation is performed through the water pump opening. If you can replace a water pump, you can fix this leak in about one extra hour.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to remove the intake manifold?
No. Unlike “collapsible” pipe methods, the BimmerFix Stent does not require removing the intake manifold or the valley pan. You only remove the water pump.
What if I’ve already installed a collapsible pipe?
Our stent is compatible with most aftermarket expandable pipes as a secondary reinforcement if they begin to leak at the front seal.
Is the sealant included?
Yes. Every kit comes with our high-temp, high oil resistant BimmerFix sealant capable of withstanding up to 500°C.
